Hirschmann Volumetric Glassware Materials

For the production of laboratory instruments and devices, Hirschmann uses only the most suitable materials for a practical oriented use.

Resins:
The guideline for the materials, used for the production of our laboratory instruments for pipetting, dispensing or titrating, are chemical resistance, mechanical robustness and ideal work properties. The following thermoplastics are used most:

PTFE, PFA, ECTFE, PA, PP, PE

The choice of the materials, used for each laboratory instrument is made according to the main area of application and therefore guarantees excellent results in terms of chemical, physical and mechanical resistance when being used normally.

The definite resistance of these resins to different reagents can be read easily from available charts.

Glass:
AR-glass (soda-lime glass) is used for the production of pipettes, whereas DURAN (borosilicate glass 3.3) from Schott is mainly used for burettes, cylinders and volumetric flasks. Micro pipettes and capillaries are as well mainly produced from genuine Schott DURAN glass. Therefore the ideal compromise of reasonable prices, resistance and suitability for use is made.
